In search of Understanding: Be intentional

"You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

- James Clear, Atomic Habits

A lot of Christians will say they desire to have understanding, to be confident of their faith like the heroes in the bible. But sadly their actions tell a different story.

Just like a young boy who wants to become a footballer. But spends his time only dreaming about it, convincing himself and anyone who'll listen, and never really making time for consistent practice. He's likely to be known as the one who talks big but has nothing to show.

The truth is It's going to take more than just half-hearted prayers said in moments of desperation. You have to be intentional if you want to know God and have understanding.

In the first part of a famous verse Joshua 1:8, God tells Joshua: “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but thou shall meditate on it day and night…”

You can see where God's heart is, we have a responsibility to keep the word close to our lips and to meditate on it consistently.

It's not enough to desire to know God, you will need to carve out a system that consistently enables you to learn about him, in prayer and bible study. God is ever near to help us, we have the Holy Spirit in us, to point us in the right direction.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. - Matthew 7:7-8

Jesus assures us that answers are waiting for us. Clarity is ahead, but you must want it. You must show your desire by keeping up with the chase… you must be intentional...

God bless you!!
